When you get a check from Neteller, is information sent to the Canadian government about it? Does it create a tax liabilty for you? Is so, what percentage?

I'm still trying to undue the check request that was "accepted". To make matters WORSE, I found out today that two other checks which I ordered the Friday and Saturday before the shit hit the fan were NEVER sent out either. They probably had them processed, sitting in the FedEx envelopes ready to be scanned, but never sent them because of the Martin Luther King holiday. Late that Monday night the bust of the two founders happened, and they held back all those FedEx'es ready to go out Tuesday, which was the first day of business since the weekend. Nice, huh?

Canadians really do live in the land of the free. Banks submit interest income paid to customers to CCRA but not information regarding checks received.

In any case gambling income is not taxed in Canada.

I will do peer-to-peer neteller transfers for anyone that requires it.

Get my e-mail address from any of the mods.

Details can be discussed via e-mail.

So professional gamblers can live tax free?

If gambling is your main source of income, more than just leisure, then you have to pay taxes on it here.

ie (professional gambliers)

No, I was referring to recreational gamblers, individuals who have other sources of income (generally employment, or just filthy rich from inherited investments).

When I used to get cheques, nothing as far as I know was reported to the government about them. As for your tax liability, other posters are (to my understanding) essentially correct - if poker is your main/sole source of income, you are supposed to file, and if it is a recreation/side income, you don't. You should consult with a tax specialist to confirm however.
